User experience (UX) design
Map user journeys, design information architectures, build wireframes, run usability testing, and validate flows with real users, so the product makes sense to the people using it, not just the team that built it.
Your product works. But if users are taking too long to understand it, onboarding flows haven't kept pace with what the product can do, or your team is fielding questions that a better interface would answer, that's a product experience gap. What if Design works with technical founders and product teams to close that gap through structured UX research, clear information architecture, and interfaces built for the workflows your users actually have, across mobile apps, web platforms, and complex enterprise tools.

End-to-end design from research and strategy through high-fidelity interfaces and developer handoff.
Map user journeys, design information architectures, build wireframes, run usability testing, and validate flows with real users, so the product makes sense to the people using it, not just the team that built it.
Design high-fidelity interfaces, apply brand styling, create component libraries, establish design tokens, build spacing systems, ensure accessibility compliance, and deliver developer handoffs ready for accurate implementation.
Design micro-interactions, define transitions between states, build interactive prototypes, specify gesture controls, and develop state changes that make complex workflows feel intuitive rather than technical.
Map complete user journeys, organize content structures, build wireframes and interactive prototypes, run usability testing, and ensure accessibility compliance for web platforms where visitors need to understand your product quickly.
Build scalable design systems for web, design micro-interactions, ensure cross-platform consistency, create data visualizations for technical products, and produce developer specifications that hold up under implementation.
Build clickable prototypes for investor demos and user testing, validate design decisions with structured feedback, iterate quickly based on real findings, and surface problems in the flow before a single line of code is written.
When users struggle to get value from a product, the problem is rarely the technology. It's usually the interface: onboarding flows that were built fast and never revisited, navigation that made sense to the team but not to a first-time user, or a product that's grown in features without growing in clarity. The result shows up as support tickets, low activation rates, and a gap between what the product can do and what users actually do with it. We work with technical founders and product teams to close that gap through structured UX research, clear information architecture, and interfaces designed around the workflows your users actually follow. The outcome is a product experience that reflects the maturity of the technology behind it.

From early-stage product teams shipping their first user-tested flows to scaling platforms redesigning for enterprise buyers, we've helped companies turn complex software into products that users understand quickly and adopt consistently, including work with TATA1mg, Pristyn Care, and Ribbit Network.
Design partners who bridge the gap between complex product requirements and the clarity your users and stakeholders need to move forward.
Iteration cycles built for product teams that can't afford to wait. Turnaround on components in as little as 48 hours, full projects in weeks rather than months.
Senior-level design expertise without the overhead of a full-time hire: no salaries, benefits, or ramp-up time.
End-to-end collaboration from user research and UX strategy through UI design and developer handoff, without handoffs between separate vendors.
User testing, heat maps, and structured feedback sessions inform each design iteration, so changes are grounded in how users actually behave, not how we assume they do.
Co-founders with deep expertise in design, architecture, and business growth.

Co-founder
Before co-founding What if Design, Akhila was designing LEED-certified buildings and leading urban interventions worth over $100M that reached millions of people. With an architecture degree from IIT Kharagpur, she brings a structural approach to digital product design, understanding how users move through complex systems and translating that into interfaces that are clear to navigate. Akhila specializes in user experience strategy, information architecture, and design systems built to scale. Her work spans healthcare platforms like TATA1mg and Pristyn Care to government-facing digital products. At What if Design, she leads the strategic direction for projects, ensuring every design decision connects to a real user need and a measurable business outcome. Her background in systems-level thinking allows her to design digital products that hold together at scale, not just at launch.

Co-founder
Tejas brings a combination of design expertise and business experience to What if Design. Before co-founding the company, he drove business growth for OYO across three countries and ran training programs that reached 1,700+ people across India. This background shapes how he approaches design: every project needs to deliver something measurable, not just something that looks considered. With an architecture degree from IIT Kharagpur, Tejas specializes in conversion-focused design, growth strategy, and pitch materials that communicate clearly to investors and enterprise clients. At What if Design, he leads client relationships and ensures each project is anchored to outcomes — whether that's increased user engagement, a successful funding round, or accelerated pilot sign-ups. His work has helped portfolio companies secure investment, supported nationwide campaigns, and contributed to digital products now used by millions of people.
UX (User Experience) design focuses on the overall user journey, information architecture, wireframes, and ensuring the product solves real user problems effectively. UI (User Interface) design focuses on the visual appearance — colors, typography, components, and high-fidelity layouts. Both are essential: UX ensures the product works logically for the person using it, UI ensures it communicates clearly and looks intentional.
